If you haven’t heard, Network After Work has an exciting new event networking app in town, Contap Social. Today, we have a few tips we’d like to share with you on how to maximize the ROI you’ll receive from using this app at your next Network After Work event. This will be the first blog in a series on this topic. We hope you’ll find it helpful and that it will make finding, friending and following up quick & easy!
Sign up for Contap Social & join your Network After Work event right after you buy your ticket: After you buy your ticket to your next Signature Network After Work event or Speed Networking Event, be sure to download the Contap Social app (if you don’t have it already, here’s the link) & join the event on the app. This will allow you to see who will be attending the event, and introduce yourself in the live event chat. Once you’re in the event on the app, you’ll be able to get a head-start on researching who will be at the event, and introducing yourself to others who will be there.
Make sure your smartphone battery is charged: This may be a no-brainer, but you want to make sure you show up ready to go with a charged smartphone! This will ensure that you are able to swap contact info, documents, links and more, seamlessly, with everyone you meet at the Network After Work event.
Connect with others nearby using the radar: Whether you’re chatting with one person or several, use the radar to find the person you’re talking with. As long as you and the other person both have Contap and hold the radar button down at the same time, you’ll be able to tap on the other person’s profile to immediately swap info. This will free up the time you spend exchanging contact info so that you can get back chatting and getting to know great new people!
Use Contap’s follow-up tools: Last but not least, consider using Contap’s follow-up tools. Right after you leave the event, be sure to take notes on how you met the other person; write down their favorite team, their kids’ names, or any other important details that you want to recall about your conversation. Then, set a reminder to yourself to check in with them in a week, or send a quick, pre-written email to keep the conversation going. You want to make sure you stay in touch while your connection is fresh; this will allow you to continue fostering a relationship that will lead to your next sale, investment, or even a great new friendship!
